Nos últimos cinco anos, a Encyclopaedia Metallum aponta para uma média anual de cerca de 9700 lançamentos de metal. Em 2025, estão actualmente registadas 8451 entradas — um número ainda provisório, já que o ano não terminou e poderão ocorrer adições retroactivas. Ainda assim, não faltaram discos marcantes. A HellHeaven apresenta, por isso, a sua selecção dos melhores álbuns do ano, num exercício inevitavelmente incompleto face à vastidão de lançamentos.
